Overview

The Support layer provides the ground-based infrastructure connecting NantNova's space assets to terrestrial networks. Built on SatLight™ GND terminals with 10–50 km terrestrial FSO range and LEO downlinks up to 6,000 km, the layer bridges satellite constellations to mission operations through multi-domain connectivity spanning DISK satellites, HAPS relays, UAV nodes, and ground stations.

Aligned with the PWSA Support Layer architecture, NantNova's ground segment handles Ka-band uplink/downlink interfaces, tactical data link integration (including Link 16 at 960–1215 MHz TDMA), and Battle Management Command (BMC) module connectivity for mission data processing. The Support layer is designed to interface with PWSA-class satellite vehicles (200–400 kg, up to 3,500 W peak power) that use Hall-effect thrusters for orbit maintenance.

Compatible with SDA, OISL, CCSDS, and 3GPP fronthaul protocols, the Support layer integrates into existing telecom ORAN architectures — enabling seamless data transport from LEO orbit to end-user networks with full protocol translation and routing.

PWSA Support Layer Architecture

The PWSA Support Layer encompasses the ground segment, launch infrastructure, and tactical data link interfaces that connect the space constellation to warfighters. NantNova's GND terminals and ground infrastructure are designed to integrate seamlessly with this architecture.
