Overview

The Tracking layer integrates NantNova's Pulsed Doppler LiDAR (LDR) with fused sensor suites for defense tracking and engagement. Combining radar detection, electro-optical (EO) tracking, and infrared (IR) tracking into a unified sensor fusion pipeline, the system provides precision range and velocity data for fire-control solutions from detection through engagement.

This capability directly complements the PWSA Tracking Layer, which deploys 100+ dedicated satellites carrying Wide Field of View (WFOV) Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) payloads operating in MWIR (3–5 μm) and LWIR (8–14 μm) bands. While PWSA space-based sensors detect and track advanced threats — including hypersonic glide vehicles — and generate fire-control quality data via on-board IR processing, NantNova's ground-based LDR provides the precision terminal guidance and ranging that closes the engagement chain.

Supporting the full engagement chain — detection, cue & slew, fine track & ranging, fire-control solution, and engagement — the Tracking layer leverages INS+GPS fusion with the LDR's 10 km range for precision targeting across drone, rocket, artillery, and cruise missile threat classes.
